African Creatives, a leading company specialising in the sourcing and sales of authentic African creations, recently embarked on a remarkable journey with a European business client. Starting our adventure in Zimbabwe and then moving on to Malawi, we immersed themselves in the local culture, visited skilled artisans, and discovered a diverse range of handmade lampshades, jewellery, home decor, wood carvings, artifacts, and textiles. The journey began in Zimbabwe, a country known for its rich artistic heritage. We ventured to Binga and Hwange, where we were privileged to witness the artisans in action. It was a humbling experience to observe the meticulous craftsmanship that went into creating beautiful handmade baskets, each telling a unique story. The villagers, leaving an indelible impression on the visitors.
Continuing our expedition, our team made our way to Malawi, a country brimming with artistic expression. Our first stop was Lilongwe, where we visited our supplier and looked at new Malawi cane designs. On route to Lundu village, we spent the night at the majestic Lake Malawi, where we were treated to a spectacular African sunset. Lundu is renowned for being the home of the traditional Malawi chair. Walking through the village, we encountered skilled cane artisans passionately chiselling away, transforming raw blocks of wood and cane into awe-inspiring furniture. Our client was captivated by the authenticity and craftsmanship displayed in each piece, recognizing their potential to add a touch of African elegance to homes around the world.
